All sensors measure thermal loads with microsecond resolution whether origiginating from radiation, convection, or conduction. The modules are designed to be compatible with mounts of standard pressure transducers.
Technical drawings, installation and instruction manuals for all senor and probe types are available upon request. For more details contact info@heat-flux.com.
STANDARD
- Sensor diameter 8 mm (0,315“) with an overall length of 16 mm (0.63“; short) or 27 mm (1“; long)
- Different housing materials: electrical insulating high temperature thermoplastic or ceramic (MACOR), or stainless steel
- Short pulse temperatures up to 3000 K
- Permanent temperatures up to 130°C (270°F)
- Pressure resistant up to 2 bar (30 psia)
- Optional sleeve with M2-threading for fixation and height adjustment
- Optional thermocouple for sensor module temperature monitoring
- SMB connection plug with external instrumentation amplifier
The standard module is designed for short (micro- and millisecond range) and long-duration measurements (seconds to hours) for low and intermediate heat loads with moderate sensor heating.
It is sucessfully installed in various sub-, super- and hypersonic wind tunnel models and heat transfer test rigs.
ROBUST
- Sensor mountable with an M8x1 threading with variable length between 15 to 100 mm (0.6“ to 4“) and customizable diameter to match the requirements of your measurement task
- Short pulse temperatures up to 4000 K
- Permanent temperatures up to 180°C (360°F), with cooling systems permanent wall temperaturs of ~500°C (930°F) are possible
- Pressure resistant up to 100 bar (1500 psia)
- Optional and customizable cooling solution
- Customizable signal connection and amplifier
The robust module is designed for high heat loads and high wall temperatures. With its pressurized air cooling system it sustains combustion environments and is successfully tested in internal combustion engines, shock tubes and even the extreme conditions of rotating detonation engines.
MINIATURE
- Sensor diameter 5 mm (0,2“) or 6.3 mm (0,25“) with an overall length of 16 mm (0.63“)
- Different housing materials: electrical insulating high temperature thermoplastic or stainless steel
- Short pulse temperatures up to 2000 K
- Permanent temperatures up to 130 °C (270°F)
- Pressure resistant up to 2 bar (30 psia)
- SMB connection plug with external instrumentation amplifier
The miniature module is the right choice for limited installation space and low surface roughness on curved surfaces.
It offers a short lightweight design and is successfully installed in blade configurations and small wind tunnel models.
FLOW & MULTI QUANTITY PROBES
- Custom-made flow probes e.g. for stagnation-point measurements
- Equipped with multiple sensors e.g. for simultaneous pressure, temperature, heat-flux and velocity measurements
- Integration of other commercially available sensors e.g. thermocouples, thin-films, pressure transducers etc.
- Integration of amplifiers for low noise and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
- Customizable signal connection and amplifiers
Flow and multi-quantity probes allow monitoring of flow direction, quality and fluctuation / turbulence level in terms of pressure/acoustic and entropy spotiness.
They are sucessfully used in various sub-, super- and hypersonic ground-testing facilites and heat transfer test rigs.
